Obituary for Ronald T "Ron" Swanson

Ronald T. “Ron” Swanson, 75, of Bearcreek, Montana, passed away April 28, 2022. He was born in 1946, to Nels and Caroline “Nettie” Swanson, the youngest of 4 children. Ron served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Being honorably discharged in 1967 he returned to Bearcreek. In 1968 he married Jane Lukkes. To that union 2 sons, Doug and T.J. were born. The 20-year marriage ended in divorce. Ron travelled extensively with his job as a 40-year member of the Brotherhood of Boilermakers, but always returned home to Bearcreek.

He is survived by his son, T.J. (Amy) of Belfry and T.J.’s children, Tyler, Ryan, and Ronnie Swanson; and Rylee Harper-Willis. Survivors also include his brother, Chuck of Texas; adult step grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Doug; parents; sister, Rosemary; and brother, George.

A graveside service will be held in the Bearcreek Cemetery, on Monday, May 2, 2022, at
2:00 p.m. with a coffee hour following in the Bearcreek Town Hall.
