Robert Joe Hayes was born October 11, 1965, to Estelle Sioux and Joe Hayes in Forsyth, Montana. Robert grew up in Billings and attended his years of school there. He liked cooking at Old Faithful Lodge in the summer and fishing his way through the park. Robert then moved to Michigan, where he made wood furniture and eventually became part owner of the company. Robert retired early from a work-related injury. He loved fishing and hunting with his father and brother, making plans to open a guide service, River People, where he would make guided trips down the Yellowstone River. Robert’s passion was cooking for friends, family and the folks that golfed the greens in both Michigan and Montana.
