James E. Edwards, 84, passed away on June 3, 2021, with his loved ones by his side. Jim was born in Starbuck, Minnesota, on June 26, 1936, to Marion and Helen Edwards. Jim was raised in Brandon, Minnesota, in the early 50’s. He graduated from Simms, Montana, in 1954. He met Shirley Serenick cruising the drag on Central Avenue, Great Falls, Montana, and they were married on April 24, 1959. They recently celebrated their 62nd anniversary with family. Jim was employed for 10 years at the Smelter in Great Falls, and retired from Great Falls School District #1 in 1998. Jim and Shirley spent time traveling on bus trips, taking cruises, and visiting family and friends. Jim fixed bicycles for the PM Optimist Club in Great Falls. Jim and Shirley relocated from Great Falls to Billings, Montana in 2012. He was active in the First Baptist Church in Great Falls and Billings, Montana. He is survived by his wife Shirley, son, Neil (Pauline), brother John (Las Vegas), adopted grandchildren, Emery Croft, Aurora Ellington, and Quincy Croft, numerous nieces and nephews, three sister-in-laws and an abundance of friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Dean, Stephen, and Gary Edwards.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at 11:00 at the First Baptist Church, Billings, Montana.
