David Mark Cobb was born on July 7, 1958 in Raleigh, NC. He died on May 25, 2021 after a long and courageous battle with colon cancer.

David graduated from Clayton High School and attended Campbell College and Appalachian State University. He moved to Montana in 2003 and lived first in Nye and later in Luther. He was a successful realtor in both in Clayton and Montana. David loved the outdoors and hunted and fished around the world. He had a strong faith and was a member of the Luther Community Church. He was a wonderful storyteller, but even more stories were told about his antics and mischief! He loved to laugh and lived life to the fullest. Kind and generous, he was a big man who was larger than life.

David was preceded in death by his parents Agnes (Adams) and Glenn Cobb, and his sister, Karen Stone. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jackie (White), his brother Gary (Peggy), his sister Gwenda Matthiae (Matty), and his brother Andy (Ann), and brother-in-law Steve White (Tricia). He is also survived by his nieces, Lee McGee (Jeff), Grayson Cobb, Quincy Hinck (Joe), and Erin Lee (Johnathon) and nephews Parker White (Patricia), Brad Stone (Terri), and Dean Laney.

The funeral will be held in Luther, MT on June 4th at 11:00 a.m. at Luther Community Church with interment at Tony Cemetery. A reception will follow at the church upon conclusion of graveside. There will be a celebration of David’s life on June 12, 2021 from 5-8pm at 300 Windless Trail Way in Clayton NC. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hope Ranch International, 257 Upper Red Lodge Creek Rd, Red Lodge MT 59068, an organization serving at risk children from Billings, MT.

I am glad that David is now at peace. It was a long struggle but he always maintained his positive attitude. Some many memories of him starting as my neighbor, then my hunting and fishing buddy, and mentor in the real estate business. Dave and Jackie always had a place for me at their Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter table . It was always a feast on what otherwise would have been a lonely day.

I had the privilege of meeting David and Jackie just recently. Their grace, faith, humor and love is infectious. David was forthright in his love for God and while I cared for him as a nurse he prayed for me. I am sorry for your family's loss and also celebrate David's return home. Hope to see you there! With gratitude and love for sharing yourselves with me - Paula
