Jane Marie Streck, age 92, passed away Thursday, April 15, 2021. Jane was born on May 14th, 1928. In 1946 she married Herman G. Streck. Together they had one child and resided in Laurel, MT. During their younger years they were hard working farmers, and Jane was an impeccable homemaker that took pride in taking care of their home and family. She was a great cook who enjoyed her time in the kitchen making homemade meals. Her family especially enjoyed her authentic German dinners.
Jane’s priority in her life was always her family. She had eight brothers and sisters and she was close with all her siblings throughout her life. Each year the family gathered on the 4th of July for a reunion, she cherished these get-togethers and looked forward to them each year. Her grandchildren’s favorite memories of her while they were growing up include helping with chores outside, where grandpa made sure they worked hard and grandma made sure their bellies were full, Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, planting flowers together in the large flower garden in their yard, playing Rummy; and of course, 4th of July gatherings where Jane was so happy surrounded by her family.
Jane and Herman’s life revolved around each other and their family. When she lost him in 2006, she lost a piece of herself but never lost her sweet demeanor. In 2013 Jane moved into assisted living where she remained until her passing. The family would like to thank the staff at Tender Nest Assisted Living Facility in Laurel, especially Sherry, Karen, and Patti, and RiverStone Hospice nurse Paula, who provided her with loving care and treated her like family. Jane was truly a sweet lady with a big heart and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Jane was proceeded in death by her husband of 60 years, Herman G. Streck, great-grandson Troy Streck, parents Alex and Pauline Frickle, seven brothers and sisters, and many extended family members and friends. She is survived by her son Herm (Cheri) Streck, grandchildren Chad Streck (Tammy Rehling), Joey (Lanny) Orr, great-grandchildren Brandon Streck and Nash Orr, her sister Delores Gerber, and many nieces and nephews.
We all love and miss you, until we meet again.
