Jane (Frisby) Kincaid passed away at Billings Clinic, surrounded by family, on March 18, 2021 at the age of 80.
Jane was born in Billings, MT on November 22, 1940 to George and Mary (Fox) Frisby. She was the youngest of seven children and was the biggest of daddy’s girls -aside from Pat. Jane graduated from Billings Senior High in 1959, losing her father to pancreatic cancer shortly after.
In 1960, She married Glen Kincaid; they had two children together, Christine and Shawn, before divorcing in 1965. After the divorce, she moved to California to be closer to her siblings. There she took up work at the Post Office, working diligently, she moved through the ranks. Jane came back to Billings, buying back her childhood home after her mother died from cervical cancer.
She devoted 30 years to the United States Postal Service. She was a stubbornly independent and blatantly honest woman -these traits served her well for the 10 years she held the office of the local American Postal Workers Union President. She fought hard for worker’s and women’s rights within the Post Office and was looked up to by her colleagues. When President Clinton came to Billings in 1995, she represented the APWU and was a part of his convoy. She retired in 2000, settling into the grandma life with her fur babies Shadow and Pompey.
She was a standup Mom, raising her children by herself, and when they became parents, helping to raise her grandchildren, and when they became parents, helping to raise her great grandchildren. She loved them all equally, but Holly was her favorite granddaughter and Nick was always first.
Jane devoted her retirement to being the best GG she could be. When she wasn’t babysitting, GG spent her time visiting Yellowstone or meeting up with family. She thoroughly enjoyed her time spent with best friends Charlene, Joyce, and Arloa.
In December of 2020, she had a bad fall. Jane had a long recovery at Billings Clinic before a longer rehabilitation at Avantara. In March of 2021, she was moved to Bella Terra for long-term care -shortly after she had a heart attack that would take her life.
Pre-deceased by her parents George and Mary Frisby, bothers Jerry and Ted, sisters Pat and Katherine. Jane is survived by brother Lawrence Frisby (nephews Brian and Paul), and sister Elizabeth Lutton (nephew Richard; Janelle, Erin, Liz, and niece Bridget; Emily, Shane), her son Shawn Kincaid (Levon), and daughter Christine Williamson (J), her grandchildren Nick Williams (Caroline), Skyler Kincaid (Rachel), Holly Burns (Jesse), and Eli Kincaid, and great grandchildren Aubre, Brooklyn, Bhodi, McKenzie, Rowan, Boston, Kennedy, Maddox, Noah, Hadassah, and Anya.
There will be a private family memorial to scatter her ashes. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society; 1903 Central Ave., Billings, MT 59102.
