Dean Edward Smith, 79, of Reed Point passed away on February 8, 2021. Dean was born in Billings, Montana on November 19, 1941 to his parents Dale and Nellie Smith. His older siblings Sue, Bill, and Larry helped welcome him into the family. They lived near Pryor as well as up the Boulder in Big Timber Montana. Dean graduated from Reed Point High School in 1960 and later from Eastern College (now MSUB) in Billings. After graduating he was employed by Proctor and Gamble traveling across the United States giving out samples and promoting their products. This was a job he truly enjoyed, but Deans’ true passion was working on cars. So Dean moved his business from Billings to Reed Point and started Reed Point Motors.

Later he partnered up with Art Ullery where they continued to serve the community of Reed Point and the outlying areas. Throughout the years Dean has helped and supported many people in the community as well as many people from all across the United States. Over the years many of these people have returned to Reed Point to say hello and say thanks again. Dean also enjoyed fishing, hunting, music, and visiting with anyone who stopped by. Dean was loved and befriended by many people in his life and truly be missed.

Dean is survived by his brother Bill (Colorado), sister in law Sandy Smith (Big Timber), Niece and in home caregiver Shawnee Nevin of Reed Point, Collene(Lyle) of Colorado, Shannon(Mike) of Colorado, Niece Jerri(Mark) of Colorado, Tami of Nevada, Larry Dale, Casey(Stacey), Charli of Big Timber, Cousin Judy Johnson of Billings, close and dear friend Maxine Burkle with her family and adopted family Art and Norma Ullery with Grandpa Deaners Jessica and William (Bud) Ullery of Reed Point and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews and great great grandnieces and great great grandnephews. Preceding him in death are his parents Dale and Nellie Smith, siblings Nonnee Sue and Larry, Nephew Dale and grandniece Katie. Special thanks to Jerry Friend, Shannon Renskers, Joann Jolly, Dan and Elisha Otis for helping Dean and Shawnee with errands and such. Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
