Phyllis Eckert, 89, of Billings, MT died Feb 5th, 2021 of natural causes. She was born January 28th, 1932 in Ballantine, MT to William and Molly (Knaub) Karst. She was the oldest of 3 siblings, Phyllis grew up on the family farm and attended Huntley Project High School. She married James Eckert in 1959 in Billings, MT. Phyllis worked at Billing Laundry after high school and later got a job at Pepsi-Cola Bottling Co. where she worked for 30+ years, in the bottling department and in housekeeping. She prided herself on being a hard worker and the fact that she worked part-time until she was 80. Phyllis also took pride in having learned how to play the accordion. Even though Phyllis didn’t have much, she was very generous with what she did have.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband James; son Duane.
She is survived by her son Stan (Vicki) Eckert, and grandson Bradyn of Phoenix, AZ; sister Evelyn Oblander (Seb Messer) of Billings, MT; and brother Gary (Linda) Karst of Ballantine, MT; nieces and a nephews and many friends
A funeral service will be held at 11 am, Saturday, Feb. 13th at Smith Funeral Home’s West Chapel, 304 W 34th St W. Billings, MT with burial at Mountview Cemetery.
