Larry Warren Amstutz, MD (69) passed away November 27, 2020 at Billings Clinic Hospital due to complications of COVID-19. He was the widower of Roberta (Robbie) Amstutz.

Born in Fort Worth, Texas on November 28th, 1950 he was the proud son of Glen and Clara Amstutz. He graduated from medical school at The University of Oklahoma in Norman. After marriage and moving to Billings, he was employed at Billings Clinic as a psychiatrist since 1995.

He enjoyed movies, books, and Oklahoma football. He will be remembered for his devotion to his family and patients and his way of making everyone around him smile.

He is survived by his four children, Kristen Goodwin (Ryan Goodwin), Danielle Hannah, Mason William, Jessica Jae; sister Linda O’Keefe (Louisville, KY); nephews and nieces, Jonathan and Lisa O’Keefe (Louisville, KY); Joseph and Katie O’Keefe (Louisville, KY); and his granddaughter Brindley Amstutz (Billings, MT).
The family is grateful for the loving care and support throughout Billings: Billings Clinic ICU, Dr. Fran Argani, Arlen Guest, The Payton Family, and the Prescott Family.

Funeral services will be Friday, December 4th at 11 am at Elevation Church. Masks will be required.

My wife and I have known Larry since 1980. He, Robbie and Joanie and I have vacationed together in the 1990's to Hawaii and Yellowstone. We were quite close in Tulsa and I lost touch. I only found about his passing as I was trying to get in touch with him. Joanie and I are in shock. Larry was a wonderful friend, and an even better shrink, the best I have ever known and I have practiced clinical psych for 45 years. As Kristin is the only of the children we met who would remember us (maybe), please know we thought the world of your Dad and wanted to offer our condolences. Let it be known that he was one of those people who gave far more than he ever than he ever got. Sam Sherman

Kristen, Danielle and Jessica ( and Mason too although I didn't know you)...I'm so very sorry for the loss of your dad. What a wonderful couple your parents were, and now they're together again. Sending hugs to all of you-"Miss Elizabeth" from MDO Preschool days.

Larry Amstutz, MD, practiced psychiatry, but more important, practiced a gentle kindness and compassion in every part of his life. I am so very grateful for his friendship, as well as support and guidance in work with young people. It is agonizing to think of his last days, and equally painful to think of this world without him. My heart goes out to his friends, family and co-workers. I send you all my love.

My deepest sympathy to Larry's family. He was not only my son's doctor for so many years, but a caring friend.
