Gained her heavenly wings November 15, 2020 in her home, being cared for by her loving family and friends. Wanda was born in Ft Leonard Wood Missouri, June 17th 1962. Wanda grew up in a logging family and always had a deep love for the outdoors. She loved to garden, if you ever seen her gardens in the summer, you witnessed art. Wanda accomplished so many things in her life, But she was always most proud of her kids, husband, and grandbabies. In 1983 Wanda met the love of her life, Butch. They were married 3 months later, on June 6th, after eloping to Coeur d’Alene Idaho.

Butch and Wanda settled in Deer Lodge Montana While raising their four children; Charlee, Marcus, Lexi, and Patrick. In 1989 Wanda completed cosmetology school, and later opened her own beauty shop in Deer Lodge where she created many happy memories. They later moved to Elko Nevada before returning home to Montana in 1997 as Butch took a job at Stillwater Mine. Wanda was an avid quilter and could crochet, or knit anything. She was a natural at everything that she did, she took many managerial jobs and was very active in her children’s lives. Wanda loved watching her kids play sports, learn, and grow. Wanda enjoyed the little things in life and she loved to laugh. She loved music and often sent songs to those that she loved. She adored when her boys would get their guitars and sing to her.
After Wanda’s mom Glenda passed, she took many trips with her father Robert (Papa) to lake Itasca, Minnesota to the bluegrass festival and that was very dear to her heart.
Butch and Wanda were soul mates and enjoyed each other for 38 wonderful years. In 2012 they renewed their vows and mom was extremely proud of that. Wanda loved very deeply and although she birthed 4 children, there were so many more throughout the years that called her mom. If she let you in her house she treated you as one of her own, and you knew it.
Wanda believed whole heartedly in Jesus Christ and we take comfort in knowing that she is dancing in the loving arms of our savior with the longest hair in heaven.
In 2013 Wanda fell ill and her fight began and although scared, she was not done and didn't want to leave her family. Wanda’s tremendous strength, courage, and love, kept her fighting. She beat brain cancer twice and lung cancer three times. Mom lived with her heart on her sleeve, and never gave up on anything that she set out to do, in fact, if you told her no she would do it just because. Our hearts are absolutely broken without her. We love her for always. Mom, we want you to know that your Butchy boy, and your babies love you to pieces and we are devastated without you. Watch over us sweet momma, save a spot for us and we’ll see you when we see you.
