Mom went home to be with Jesus on October 7, 2020. She was born on April 6, 1926 in Glendive, MT, and was raised in Bloomfield, MT and the Glendive area—graduating from Dawson County High School in 1944. She taught in several Dawson County schools before marrying her beloved Charles (whose homegoing was in 2010) on June 14, 1947. They began life in Glendive, but soon moved to Billings, MT, where they served their Lord and raised their three children.
Mom was a great hostess and cook, and her home was always open. She went back to college and graduated in 1968 –then taught at Eldergrove School and was a librarian at Ponderosa and Beartooth Schools. After retiring, she and Charles wanted to travel, but with a purpose. They volunteered with the Mobile Missionary Assistance Program (MMAP) and traveled to many areas of the United States helping to build churches and camps, and assisting in other projects. Fun times for Mom were playing table games, baking, reading, crocheting, and in later years, defeating Sudoku puzzles.
Mom dearly loved her family and spending time with them always brought her joy. She is survived by her three children—David(Valerie), Sherry, and Sandy, granddaughters—Kimberlee, Kyla(Joe), Kelley(Todd), grandson Marty(Jenny), 11 great-grandchildren, 6 great, great-grandchildren, sister(Marj), two sisters-in-law(Betty Lou and Bonita), brother-in-law(Milan), many nieces and nephews, and caring friends. We all love and miss you!
Viewing is on Monday and Tuesday morning at Smith's Funeral Chapel-Downtown. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Eastern Montana Bible Camp c/o Connie Unruh, 431 Rd. 523, Bloomfield, MT 59315, or a memorial of your choice.

Sorry to hear of your mother's passing. It is a sorrow and joy as she is now with your father. My maiden name was Elizabeth Hamilton. Your mom used to take me to church. I am in town for my niece's wedding. My brother told me about your mom. My own parents and youngest brother have been gone awhile. Looking forward to see your mom in heaven.
