Paul James Spencer, 62, passed away at his home on June 16, 2020. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on March 13, 1958 to Kenneth and Elli Gerd (Olsen) Spencer. Paul graduated from Hillcrest Highschool in Midvale Utah in 1978. He entered the U.S., Army in April. 1978 as an Observation Scout Helicopter Repairman. Got out in April of 1981. He then served in the U.S. Army Reserves for 1 year and 8 months. During this time, he met and married Mary Jo Shammel. After their first child was born, he reupped in October 1982 as a Pershing Missile Crewmember. He was honorably and medically discharged in July of 1984 as a Spec-4.

Paul worked as an aircraft refueler, before starting college at Northern Montana College in Havre Montana. He graduated with an Associate of Science in Electronics June of 1988. He then received his Bachelor of Technology in June of 1990.
He worked with copiers for about 5 years before he got his dream job working with computers. He had very loyal customers that followed him from business to business for over 10 years. When his health started to decline, the company he was working for was sold. The computer section was disbanded. So, he started looking for work and found school bus driving which he did for 2 years before Dr’s told him he could no longer drive. Woodworking was his other love in life and enjoyed making Native American flutes, ukuleles and many other projects. He was helping his grandchildren make their own ukuleles.
After a lengthy illness Paul is survived by his wife, Mary Spencer; children: David (Theresa) Spencer, Saranna (Jesse) Doheny, Lori Spencer, Kenneth (Caylee) Spencer, Elisa Spencer, Adopted son Kruger (Karyl-Lynn) JordenP; grandchildren: Isaic, Connor, Thomas Spencer; Tanakie, Deakon, Keenan Doheny; Avalon Spencer, David Jorden; brothers, Raymond (Lawanna) Spencer, Stephen Spencer,. He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Spencer; mother, Elli Gerd (Olsen) Spencer and sister Rebecca Spencer.
