James Robert “Jim” Kimmell, age 95, went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on May 19, 2020.
To plant a memorial tree in honor of James "Jim" Kimmell, please visit our Heartfelt Sympathies Store.
Jim served his country in the Navy during WWII, marrying the love of his life, Rose Emma Sorensen, upon discharge. Their family grew with six children. After moving the family to Billings in 1954, Jim had many business ventures over the years. His hobbies included flying small aircraft, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and spending time with family and friends. He dedicated his life to Jesus and loved the saints in the church of Billings and other locales.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Rosie, 6 siblings, 3 sons Robert, Ronnie, and Brian Kimmell, and 2 grandchildren, Lisa and Ricky.
Survivors include his brother, Floyd (Carol), a daughter Karen Kimmell, sons Rodney “Buck” Kimmell (Carol), and Gregory Kimmell (Carla), all of Billings, as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to Greg and Carla Kimmell for their loving care of both Jim and Rosie over the many years; also special thanks to the wonderful staff at Your Home Away From Home for their patient and compassionate care; his granddaughter, Korrie Schauer, was his special care taker at this facility. He loved that!
A celebration of Life for Jim will be at a later date due to the Covid situation.
“Bye Dad, you will be missed. Say hi to Mom for us. Love you”.
