They always said he had nine lives. From conquering the wild times and wrecks of his youth, to surviving 3 heart attacks, one of which did kill him but he was revived and lived another 5 1/2 years after given only a 2% chance of survival. But six years ago, Buck was diagnosed with COPD which finally took his life.
Although his life was short, he made the most of the life he had. Buck loved to fish, hunt, going to the dirt track races, and watching nascar. He loved spending time with family and friends, he was always the life of the party. Buck had one son, from his first marriage. On July 1, 1996, he married one of his childhood best friends, Helen Haagenson Hendrickson, whom he spent the rest of his life with and with that marriage, gained 2 stepsons and a stepdaughter. He was a welder for many years at Western Sugar, when he had an accident and reinjured his back and could no longer do that type of work. He then spent his summers up north working for Craig Burnham alongside his dad on the hay fields. After he no longer could work due to illness, he retired and spent his last remaining years taking care of his best friend in the whole world, his granddaughter Griffin. Buck and Griff were inseparable from the time she was born, until the morning of his death.
Buck is preceded in death by his mother Winifred Caves Overby and his father Harold *HD* Hendrickson. He is survived by his wife Helen Hendrickson, siblings Glenna Nieskens, Norris Hendrickson, and Shiela Hendrickson,a son Keelan Hendrickson, stepchildren Zach (Erin) Simenson, Nate Simenson, and Angela (Brendon) Larson, grandchildren KJ, Tyler, Elijah, Logan, Aydon, Caisen, Alexander, Elizabeth, and Griffin, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
