Obituary

Timothy Paul Haffey, 51, passed away on November 6, 2019. Tim was born on November 1, 1968 in Billings, Montana to Terri King-Smith and Joseph Raymond Haffey. He attended grade schools in Billings and Gillette, graduating from Cheyenne East High School in 1987. It was at high school that Tim met his wife Rebecca. They were married on March 12, 1988 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Tim studied business at Laramie County Community College. From the age of 16 he always worked in the Plumbing and HVAC field. He had a great talent for sales and relating with his customers.

On January 7, 1994, Tim and Rebecca had their first child Sarah Paulene. She was his great joy, he loved to dance with her and show her the outdoors. His son Bridger Timothy was born on July 18, 1997. He was his “little mini me” and grew to share Tim’s passion for outdoor adventure. Tim loved the mountains of Montana and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his family.

One of his greatest enjoyments was fishing in Alaska with his family. Another one of his joys was taking his granddaughters fishing for tiny bass and trout in the Laurel pond. Tim was an accomplished hunter. He had numerous successful hunts including a trophy moose, many elk, deer, antelope and fowl. He was also happiest in his fishing boat going down the Yellowstone and Bighorn Rivers. He enjoyed a peaceful ride on his 4-wheeler exploring the trails and roads of the Beartooth Mountains. He had a great love for the Chesapeake Bay Retriever. He had three throughout his life, Otis, Jessie and Piper. He loved to take them hunting and swimming in the creek.

The most important moment of his life was when he put his faith in Jesus Christ at age 22 through the friendship of his mentor and friend Brent. We imagine Tim now exploring the trails and mountains in Heaven with perfect peace in the presence of our Lord Jesus.

Tim is survived by his wife Rebecca; daughter Sarah (husband Caleb, children Kloey, Klara, Briggs); son Bridger (wife Jennifer); Mother Terri King (husband Jack); Father Ray Haffey(wife Sharon); Stepmom Stephanie Angelos; Sister Annie Yerkich (husband Jeff, child Fenmore). He is preceded in death by Joseph Haffey (brother) ,Kent Angelos (stepfather), Audrey Haffey (grandma), Joe Haffey (grandfather), Paul King (grandfather), and Lydia King (grandmother) .Tim is also survived by wonderful aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Tim’s life on Saturday November 23rd at 10:30am at Family Church 1002 3rd Ave Laurel, Montana. Condolences for the family may be shared at www.smithfuneralchapels.com.

Our daughter Kristi (Feusner) Warden knew both Tim and Rebecca at Cheyenne East High School. I remember when my mom Ruth (Hein) Reichert traveled down to Cheyenne with her sister Lydia King for their EHS graduation on June 2, 1987.

Jack and Susan Haffey and family send condolences and prayers to all Tim's family. As we read Tim's obituary and especially look at his handsome picture and smile, we see and think of the special Haffey family features he so clearly possesses. His life's activities as described in his obituary also are those of loving and serving others.
Again, our thoughts, prayers and condolences to all.

Missing you so much Dad. Yesterday we had your grandson Briggsy’s 1st birthday. You would have been there and it would have meant so much to us. I’m imagining you’ve already seen this happy birthday boy. We will always tell him about his papa....your hunting adventure stories and teach him to fish 🎣 Really wish you were here. ❤️ Love you, until we get to meet again.

I met Tim and our friendship started while working at the Big Broadway store in Missoula, MT. We spent a lot of time together, his family and mine. My favorite memory was bow hunting with him at 8 mile in Stevensville, MT and running into mountain lion threatening to pounce. We managed to scare it away but it quartered us down to our vehicle and Tim the whole time was saying "here kitty kitty"! I loved him and will miss him. My prayers and love to the Haffey family.
