Obituary

Ben Deines went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, July 23, 2019. He was born in Billings, MT on July 28, 1928 to George and Katie Deines. Ben was the 13th child of 13 children. All brothers, sisters and parents have preceded him in death. Ben was born, raised and worked in the Billings area before moving to Park City, MT where he farmed for 21 years. After selling his farm, Ben started a new adventure of Ben Deines Excavating. His loving wife Niema worked by his side with him for all those years. Ben and Niema (Derheim) were joined together in marriage on June 23, 1946. They have four children: Marlene (John) Wells, Beverly (LeRoy) Schlesener, Les (Tammy) Deines and Brenda (Deines) Ndedi. There are 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Niema, Ben’s loving wife of 63 years, preceded him in death along with one granddaughter. There are many years of fond memories surrounding the annual Christmas tree at mom and dad‘s house. The one wish that Ben desired and prayed for, was that all his family, friends and acquaintances would put their trust in his Lord and know the joy and peace that comes only through him. God bless you daddy, we will miss you horribly but know you are where you want to be, in the presence of your savior.

The family would like to thank the caring staff at St. John’s United for all their care over the last few years.

Visitation hours will be at Smith West Funeral Chapel 304 34 Street West Billings, MT at the following times: Saturday 3 to 8 and Sunday 1 to 4.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 29, 2019 at Emmanuel Baptist Church on 328 S. Shiloh Rd. Billings, MT.

Memorials may be given to St. John’s United at 3940 Rimrock Rd. Billings, MT 59102 or to the Yellowstone Valley Black Sheep Harley-Davidson‘s for Christ Motorcycle Ministry at P.O. Box 51122 Billings, MT 59105

I had the chance to get to know Ben while I was the receptionist at Chapel Court 2016-2018. He was always so kind and friendly.
He was a real pleasure to be around. I know he will be greatly missed by all.
Rest easy Ben.

We are sorry for the loss of your loved one. Our parents did a lot of things together, giving us many good memories. Your
parents were very special to me. They are all together now! I really miss all my aunts and uncles--they were a fun family.
We are sorry we will be missing Uncle Benny's funeral, but will be out of town with the kids on our annual camping trip. We
will be thinking of you during his hour of service and praying the Lord will comfort you all.
God's Blessings,
Love--Nancy and Larry
