Mae Glasgow, age 87, passed peacefully in her home at sunrise on Sunday, July 7, 2019 in Billings, MT. She was born to parents, Olaf and Julia Holm in Alkabo, ND on November 9, 1931. Mae grew up in Alkabo, graduating high school in 1948. With a need for teachers, Mae took a state teacher's certification test and taught in a country school for a year following graduation.
On June 19, 1949, Mae was married to Orris Bowman (also from Alkabo) with whom she had 3 children. Orris died in September, 1964. Mae began working outside home to support her family. In June, 1965, she moved from Williston, ND to Billings, MT where she attended Billings Business College to further her education.
Mae married Colin F. Glasgow on May 27, 1966. With Colin's four children from a previous marriage, they became parents to a combined family of seven children. Mae and Colin were married for 51 years when Colin died in November of 2017.
Mae excelled in school and played high school basketball with team wins at the District Tournaments in '47 and '48. She enjoyed bowling and spent many years involved with ladies league bowling. Mae continued raising family and working using her business education at several places of employment. She retired in 2001 after 20 years at American Appliance Company in Billings.
Faith, family and home were the cornerstones of Mae's life. After twice being a cancer survivor, this Spring a third cancer diagnosis was the most serious. She chose her path of treatment and acceptance of this diagnosis with faith and family helping sustain her. "God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So, He put his arms around you and whispered, "Come with Me.."
Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Colin; her parents, Olaf and Julia Holm; her brother, Richard; her daughter-in-law, Karen. She is survived by her three children, Diane, Wes and Larry (Jodi) Bowman; grandchildren, Angelia & Sara Bowman, Amanda (Ames) Molsberry; great-grandchildren, Molly, Graysen and Ryan Molsberry; her brother, James (Delores) Holm and several nephews and nieces.
"Mom" - "Grandma" -you have left your earthly home as God took you to your home in heaven but you will still be at home here in the hearts of your family.
