Dick passed away suddenly April 6 2019 at his home in Luther MT amongst family and friends. He was 81 years.

Dick was born in Sac City, Iowa on Nov. 16th, 1937 to Herman and Hilda Bauer. He was the eldest of three sons.
The family moved from Iowa to Clark, WY in 1948. After moving between WY and MT they settled in Luther, MT in 1954.
During his high school years he lived with Norman and Ellie Cowger, graduating in the class of 1958.
Dick enlisted in the Army in 1959. He spent some time in Germany. He was a former member of the 557th Army Corps of Engineers. He was discharged in 1962.
He worked for many construction companies throughout the years and also ran his farm in Belfy, MT. One of his most memorable times was working for Jim Klessens helping build the Red Lodge Ski Area. He started working for Carbon County road crew in 1989, retiring in November 1999.
Dick married Kay Niemi Cannon July 4, 1987, settling again in Luther.
Dick was an avid hunter and fisherman, being very proud of his many animal mounts. Dick was also a great husband, father, Grandfather, and friend.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents and younger bother Everett Bauer.
Dick is survived by his wife Kay of Luther, son Gary of Clark, WY, brother Bill (Marlene) of Las Vegas, NV, sister-in-law Elaine Bauer of Billings. Stepchildren Darla Morgan (Harold) of Luther, Samantha Sell (Ted) of Luther, Becky Muller (Bob) of Bridger, Mark Moe of Portland, OR, Hope Cooley of Texas, and Margaret Savilianis (David) of Texas. Ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Grave Site Services will be Friday April 12, 2019 at the Yellowstone National Cemetery in Laurel, MT. There will be a luncheon following at the Best Western in Laurel.
