morning of March 26, 2019. He is survived by Margaret, his loving wife of
48 years; daughter, Lennell (Tim) Roemer, son, Christopher Jones, two
grand children, Conor & McKenzie Roemer, older brother, Lyle (Valda)
Jones, and Father, Lynn Jones .
Terry was born in Forsyth, Montana on April 6, 1948, to Lynn and
Eldora Jones. He was the second of three brothers, Lyle the eldest and
Gerald the younger. Terry graduated from Billings Senior High in 1966.
In June of 1971 Terry married Margaret Marie Anthony where they
moved to Denver, CO and he followed in his father’s footsteps completing
Court Reporting school. There, they also had their first of two children,
Lennell Marie Jones. They then moved to Rawlings, WY where they had
their second, Christopher Lynn Jones. Terry started his court reporting
career in Rawlins. After five years in Rawlins, Terry moved his family to
Jackson Hole, Wyoming, where they would live for 41 years. After 38 years
of working for the State of Wyoming as a District Court Reporter, Terry
retired. He had a true passion for all sports, especially football, but above
all spending time with family and friends was his priority
After enjoying several more years in Jackson, the time had come to
return to Terry and Margaret’s hometown of Billings, MT. Here they
enjoyed only a few short, but precious months before the Lord called Terry
Terry will be remembered as a constant source of love and strength,
sense of humor, devotion to family and his infectious personality.
A celebration of his life will be held on March 31, 2019 at 2 p.m., at
Smith’s Funeral Chapel, 304 34th St. West, Billings, MT 59102.
