Obituary

Marilee, 61, our wife, daughter, mother, and grandmother left us February 1, 2019.  Marilee was born August 4, 1957, to Conrad and Miriam (Frank) Ostwalt.  She was born in Billings, MT at Deaconess Billings Clinic.  She graduated from Senior High in 1976.  Marilee worked in the office at Kmart for over 20 years.  She was a Worthy Matron with Eastern Star from 1996-1997.  Marilee married Gregory Thomas on April 22, 1978.  Together they enjoyed bowling, boating, fishing, and camping.  They were blessed with 3 children and 9 grandchildren.  Jason (Tianna) Thomas and their children Emmersyn, Bridget, Tatum and Kepler;  Bradley (Jill) and their children Kaden and Annabella;  Kaylyn (Micheal) Hampton and their children Julianna, Lila, and Allen.  Marilee's family remembers her laughter.  She loved playing cards, canning, fishing, camping, and most of all visiting with everyone.  Marilee is survived by her husband, Greg; her parents; children and grandchildren; her brother Leonard (Ella) Ostwalt; and numerous extended family. She is preceded in death by her brother Duane and infant sister Gail Denise.  Visitation with the family will be held February 7, 2019 at the Smith Funeral Chapel in Laurel from 4:30-7:00. Funeral Services will be Friday February 8, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at the Laurel United Methodist Church.  Graveside Service and Luncheon at the church will follow.  The family would like to thank Dr. Neal Sorenson and Dr Michael Ganz along with the rest of the medical community who helped her over the years.  In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to The Dialysis Clinic in Billings or the Elective Trust Fund of Zidonian Chapter #50 of Eastern Star, in her name.

Our sincere condolences to the family. When our loved ones fall asleep in death, words alone cannot ease the pain of our loss. The Bible helps us to deal with our grief (2 Corinthians 1:3, 4). We can also find hope from Jesus words at John 5:28, 29 “The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” I hope these scripture bring comfort and calmness of heart to you during the difficult days ahead. Uncle Connie, Aunt Miriam and family: Marilee was one of the “younger generation cousins” so I never got to spend much time with her but she always knew me when we’d run into each other at the store “mostly K Mart. She always had that beautiful smile and of course her wonderful laugh! She was such a neat lady!!!

Her cousin and your niece. Praying for all of you.
Love you,
Nancy Goddard Jackson
