On the morning of January 9, 2019 our very much loved wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma, and sister passed peacefully with her family by her side.
To plant a memorial tree in honor of Joyce Elaine Bomar, please visit our Heartfelt Sympathies Store.
Joyce was born to Floyd Gail and Gertie Harper on November 5, 1941 in Huntley, Montana. She met the love of her life, Walt Bomar, on a blind date and they married on November 7, 1958. They had 3 children, Wayne (Karen) Bomar, Jeanette (Jim) Reichert, and Loren (Michelle) Bomar.
Mom loved life! She loved the family camping trips and enjoyed having a beer by the fire, and she loved to fish. She enjoyed cooking and baking and before her illness she cooked for many; the family as well at the Senior Citizen Center where she worked in her earlier years. She always made lite of work and she always had a spring in her step.
SHE WAS AWESOME!
The grandchildren (8 of them) and the great-grandchildren (16 of them) brought so much happiness and a ton of fun to an already happy life that she lived. We share many memories together. She will FOREVER be with us!
Joyce is survived by her husband Walt, of 60 years, her children, sisters: Sharon Guckeen, Corleen Walters, Carol Taylor and brother: Ronnie Harper. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Norman Harper and Floyd Harper.
The service for Joyce will be held on Tuesday, January 15, at 1 p.m., at Smith's Funeral Chapel on South 27th Street. Viewing will be on Monday, January 14, between the hours of 4-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that you make a donation to the charity of your choice or to the Frontier Cancer Center at 1315 Golden Valley Circle, Billings, MT. 59102.
