Life Story for Leslie Suzanne Gonzales (Hoepfner)

Leslie Suzanne  Gonzales (Hoepfner)
Leslie Suzanne Gonzales (Hoepfner), age 56, of Billings, MT passed away November 24, 2018 surrounded by her family after courageously and gracefully fighting a very arduous battle with cancer.

She was born in Lewistown, MT on August 9, 1962 to Vicki Ann Lelek Hoepfner.

She raised two beloved children, Jake Scott Miller (of Reno, NV) and Jordan Sara Miller (of Sacramento, CA) and was the absolute best mother and friend.

Leslie married the love of her life, Rick Stewart Gonzales, in Lake Tahoe, NV on October 16, 2010.

Anyone that knew Leslie fell in love with her fun-loving spirit, kindness & generosity, silliness, sense of humor and genuineness in addition to her big, beautiful, blue eyes and captivating smile.

She was extremely intellectual, well-spoken, and a phenomenal writer – the epitome of grace and eloquence. She instilled in her children a passion for learning. She had a successful career in higher education after receiving her Bachelors degree and, later, Masters degree.

Leslie had so many talents and passions including sewing, fashion design, interior design, drawing, painting, wreathmaking and other crafts, and writing… Day to day she loved to spend time with her family and her beloved dogs, Cameron, Isabelle, Jack and Nikki. She had dreams of writing books and building a cabin in Bozeman, MT.

She is survived by her son, Jake Scott Miller; her daughter, Jordan Sara Miller; her husband, Rick Stewart Gonzales; her mother, Vicki Ann (Lelek) Hoepfner; her father, Jerry Hoepfner; and her two sisters, Debbie Diane (Hoepfner) Tucker and Lisa Deacon. She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Barbara Ann Lelek “Nana”; her grandfather, Victor Lelek “Bompa”; her grandmother, Lorraine Hoepfner-Schmidt, as well as her beloved dogs, Bosco and Anna.

Leslie’s Celebration of Life will be held at Yellowstone Christian College Chapel, 1515 Shiloh Road in Billings, MT on Thursday, November 29th, 2018 at 2:00pm with Pastor Bruce Cannon presiding. Burial will follow on Friday, November 30th, 2018 at 11:00am at the beautiful Sunset Hills Cemetery in Bozeman, MT.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the following charities: Leiomyosarcoma Support & Direct Research Foundation, National Leiomyosarcoma Foundation, and/or any research toward finding a cure (or viable treatments) for leiomyosarcoma. Condolences may be shared online at
