Obituary for Lucinda Viola Propp

Lucinda (Naasz) Propp passed away on October 13, 2018, with family by her side. Lucinda was born in Napoleon, ND on June 4, 1928. Severe drought in the Dakotas forced the family to move and they settled in Pompeys Pillar, MT in 1936, later purchasing a farm in 1942. After going to a high school dance with friends, Lucinda started dating the love of her life, Allen. They married in 1948 and had three sons: Greg, Tim, and Rod. Alleri's younger brother Skip lived with them for a number of years as a boy and was a wonderful complement to the family.
Lucinda was an earnest and hard-working woman. Whether in the field or working on the family farm and feedlot's accounting, she took pride in a job well done, cutting no corners. Her sons benefited from the fine example she set. She was also a master cook who was at her best when planning holiday and dinner parties. Lucinda made time for her friends — there was rarely an afternoon when she didn't go into town for coffee with her girlfriends. That friend group expanded when she and Allen retired: During their winters in Arizona, they enjoyed staying active and meeting new people.
Her granddaughters and nieces looked up to Lucinda for her fierce, spunky attitude and sparkling laugh (and remember the Big Red gum that was always in her purse). The source of much of that wonderful laughter was her beloved twin sister, Lucille. The twin sisters were a force to be reckoned with and their bond will continue to inspire her girls for years to come.
Lucinda was preceded in death by her sisters Edna, Elsie, and Lucille; her brother, Milbert; and her parents. She is survived by her husband, Allen; her sons, Greg Propp, Tim (Patty) Propp, and Rod (Becky) Propp; her nephew, Gary "Skip" (Diana) Propp; and her brother, Ervin Naasz; as well as 5 granddaughters, 5 great grandchildren, and beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at Bethlehem Congregational Church, Worden, at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, October 20, 2018, with interment to follow at Pleasantview Cemetery, Ballantine.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Bethlehem Congregational Church, Worden, Montana
