Obituary for Louella May Linger

Louella May Linger
Heaven gained another angel as Louella May Linger of Laurel passed away on Oct 6, 2018 due to a hemorrhagic stroke at the age of 79.
Louella was born January 16, 1939 in Columbus, MT to Alvin DeHart Jordan and Della Mary Strong joining older sister, Mary Lou. When she was four they moved to a home twelve miles from Molt, MT and in the fifth grade they moved into Molt. She attended Junior High and High School in Billings, MT. Her senior year they moved back to Columbus where she graduated.
While a sophomore she became reacquainted with a young man that had gone to a neighboring elementary school, Russell Washington Linger. Russell and Louella were wed, June 24th, 1956, one month after she graduated high school. They started their life together in a two room house 15 miles north of Laurel near the family ranch.
Five months later on November 10th of 1956, Russell received notice to report to the army on Dec 10th. When he was allowed to come home for Christmas, Louella packed her suitcase and returned to Fort Ord, California even though it was against regulations.
Russell and Louella had four children: Veronica (Ron) Marsich of Laurel; Dwaine (Mary Ann) Linger of Juliaetta, ID; Teresa (Kevin) Dutton of Belgrade; Darin (Lisa) Linger of Laurel. They have eight grandchildren: Lisa (Jeremy) Sorensen, Jeffrey (Krystel) Marsich; Tim Linger; Kylee (Clint) Saunders, Russell Dutton, Karlee Dutton; Ashley (Dylan) Bandy, Felicity Linger. They also have six great grandchildren: Genevieve, Charlise, and Arabella Sorensen, Paxton and Madalyn Marsich and Sevryn Bandy.
Louella and Russell lived and ranched between Molt and Laurel. In the fall of 1977 she started teaching at Yellowstone Valley Christian School. They moved to Laurel in February of 1978 where Russell became the maintenance man at Yellowstone Valley Christian School. Louella later worked as a data processor and teller at First Security Bank of Laurel.
Russell passed away on April 21, 1986. Louella eventually moved to Billings where she became the bookkeeper for Christian Missionary Alliance Church. She also worked for Walmart and then as a bookkeeper for Clydhurst Christian Ranch.
Her hobbies included her family, gardening, sewing and baking. The last few years her constant companion was her Bichon Frise, Snowball.
Louella had a deep faith in her Lord Savior Jesus Christ. She was proud to be the first to be baptized in the new addition of the First Baptist Church in Billings. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Laurel and Christ’s Church of Billings, formerly West Side Baptist.
She is also preceded in death by her parents and her sister Mary Lou Kline as well as all of her brothers in law and sisters in law. Russell was the first sibling to pass away and Louella was the last.
In February of 2017, Louella moved into assisted living in Laurel where she passed away. After 32 years she and the love of her life are reunited.
Funeral will be held Thursday, October 11th, at 11 AM, Christ’s Church of Billings, 323 S 32nd Street W. Burial will be at the Laurel Cemetery with reception to follow.
