Obituary for Susan Hammond Ingle

Susan Ingle, 50, died peacefully in her sleep at home in Billings on May 11, 2018.

Susan was born Sept. 25, 1967, the fourth child of Carrol 'C.P.' and Colleen (Hansen) Hammond. A beautiful baby girl with bright red hair and big brown eyes, Susan spent her early years in Idaho’s Star Valley where her parents worked. About 1975, C.P. moved the family to Billings, and Susan and her siblings—Anita, Wade, and Ted—attended school at Lockwood Elementary and Billings Senior High. Susan graduated in May 1985.

Susan was married to Gene Ingle. Susan loved children, which is a good thing because she had six of them between 1987 and 2006: Salicia, Chandler, Hayden, Jalyn, Kendall, and Garrin. She was also blessed with four grandchildren.

Susan worked at WalMart and O’Reillys. Her final job was with the Mint Smart Wash, a good job with wonderful employers. In her spare time, Susan liked to craft and paint, and she was a die hard Redskins’ football fan. She loved to worship the Lord on Sunday mornings with her church family.

Susan was always willing to lend a hand, and she loved our big family parties. Susan was a friendly, loving, cheerful woman, who for the most part kept her troubles to herself. Today, Susan is walking with her Savior Jesus Christ and praying for the family she left behind.

Predeceased by her father, Susan is survived by her mother, Colleen Hammond; children: Salicia Borges (Tom), Chandler Ingle (Briana), Hayden Ingle, Jalyn Ingle, Kendall Ingle, and Garrin Ingle; grandchildren: Camden, Kenadee, Terrilyn, and Zoey; siblings: Linda Hammond Grosskopf, Gwyn Hammond Taft, Mike Hammond (Debbie), Nancy Hammond Morrison (Scott), Anita Hammond Graf (Shannon), Wade Hammond (Annie), and Ted Hammond (Vernice); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 23 at 11 a.m. at Elevation Church (711 – 4th Avenue North). Lunch will follow. In lieu of flowers, a fund has been established to help Susan’s children get on with their lives without their mother. Checks (made out to Susan’s sister Linda Grosskopf) can be mailed to PO Box 85, Billings, MT 59103. There’s also an internet site; search by Susan’s name (Susan Ingle) at youcaring.com and click on the link.
