Obituary for Edith Riemann

Edith Riemann
Our mother, Edith Riemann, 90, passed away peacefully in her sleep early Saturday morning, April 21, 2018, at St. John’s nursing home. She was born in Columbus, MT on March 12, 1928; one of 13 children born to William and Ruth Gates. Her early life was spent milking cows and working on the farm.
She met and married Arden Riemann in November of 1946 and they spent the next 69 years raising their 4 children; working, fishing, traveling and enjoying their grandkids and great-grands. She became a telephone operator for AT&T when they were still referred to as “MA BELL.” She enjoyed sewing, making quilts and all kinds of needlework.
Dad passed away 2 years ago and Mom went to live at St. John’s, where her sister Clara lived and their other sister, Mildred soon joined them where they all enjoyed reminiscing and eating meals together.
Mom is survived by her son Steve and Terri Riemann of Peyton, CO; her daughters, Carol and Ray Sebek of Lewistown, MT, Betty and Bill Botnen of Billings, MT and Gayla and Kevin Wiedenheft of Bozeman, MT. She is also survived by 8 grandkids and numerous great and great, great-grands; her brother Carl and Judy Gates of Columbus MT, and her 2 sisters, Mildred Jackson and Clara Fox of
Billings, MT.
There will be a memorial service at Ocee Johnson Chapel at St John’s Lutheran Ministries, 3940 Rimrock Road, Billings, Mt at 10:00 am Thursday April 26, 2018.
A huge thank you to the staff at Unity Square for the awesome care they gave
our Mother. The family requests donations to St John’s Lutheran Ministries/ Residents Fund or the charity of choice.
