Condolences

Condolence From: Auzie L. Blevins
Condolence: Dear Pat and Family:
This is to offer my sincerest condolences for the loss of your husband Jim. I worked under Jim at the Bureau of Reclamation from 1977 to about 1984.He was our O&M Division chief. I remember him as a good leader who would take out time to deal with any member of he staff who was having a problem. I am especially grateful to him for talking with me at a time when I was a newly hired employee transitioning from working in Texas state government to trying to fit in to a very different federal agency. He took at least 45 minutes to personally listen and discuss a personnal issue I was going through. If Jim had a fault, it was being too tolerant of bad managers; his patient discussion with me had to do with persuading me to be patient and stick with a bad situation until things improved. They did, and I am grateful for his advice. What I do regret is afterward I never took the time to personally thank him for what he did for me. But I always felt he was my friend. I believe everyone in the Division felt that way. He was a fine man. I am sure he will be missed.
Sincerely,
Auzie Blevins
