Obituary for Daniel "Danny" Berreth

Daniel Emanuel Berreth was a kind man with a gentle heart. He enjoyed a good, rewarding life. Daniel died Wednesday, February 7, 2018, in a Billings nursing care facility.
Danny was born in Billings on October 12, 1962. He was the only child of Blanche Bury Berreth and Emanuel Berreth. He spent his childhood in the family home on Washington Street, and he received a good education in the Billings Public School System.
As an adult, Danny lived an independent life, and he was very proud of his employment, the home he owned, the yard he tended, and the many friends he had in our city.
Danny always loved his southside neighborhood and remained fiercely loyal to his community there. During the past couple of weeks when he could no longer shovel snow, he worried about keeping his sidewalks clean. He was thankful for the assistance of good neighbors who shoveled for him.
He was a compassionate friend to all living creatures, and he loved many cats throughout his life. The food dish was always full for both his inside cat and the neighborhood cats who knew the way to his home quite well. Sammy his current cat will miss him greatly but he will be well cared for in a new home.
Danny’s church family was very important to him, and he was a dedicated member of the congregation of Mount Olive Lutheran Church. He looked forward to Sunday services every week. He felt love and acceptance there and really enjoyed the sweets at coffee hour.
Danny was predeceased by his parents, but he is survived by extended family members with whom he kept in regular contact. He had many old and new friends in his neighborhood, and they were so good to him. Danny was fortunate to have known many people in his life, and we are all fortunate to have known him too. Most recently, Danny enjoyed time spent with his friends and co-workers at COR Enterprises and Job Connection, Inc.
Dan will be eternally grateful for the enduring support of his friends Carl and Janet Solberg. Leroy Schwartzbauer and Mike Hoffman were precious best friends. He will be missed by Susan, Gloria, Robbin, Jeanette, and so many others.
Funeral services for Danny will be at 2:30 pm, Monday, February 12, 2018, at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 2336 St. Johns Avenue. A Celebration of Life event will precede his service at the church and will be held at COR Enterprises, 2121 Lampman Drive, at 1 pm, on that same day. His cremains will be interred alongside his parents at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Billings. Smith Funeral Chapels is assisting with arrangements.
