Obituary for Katherine "Kathy" Sandine
Katherine “Kathy” Carol (Gilder) Sandine passed away January 13, 2018. Kathy was born April 21, 1950 in Red Lodge, Montana to Richard and Marie Gilder. Kathy was born, raised and lived her life in Red Lodge, Montana. In 1974 she married Donald Sandine and had two children, Tiffany and Zane.
Kathy made her living in sales. A veteran sales person, she won three cars with Mary Kay Cosmetics before forming her own cosmetics line. In addition to her career in cosmetics, Kathy was a longtime employee of the retail store, The Village Shoppe in Red Lodge. There are likely many people who have fewer wrinkles and are better dressed because of Kathy’s expertise.
Kathy won an essay contest when she was in grade school on the topic of what she wanted to be when she grew up. In the essay, she did not choose to be a salesperson, but rather a mother. On that count, she succeeded beyond measure. Kathy was a wonderful mother. Her children adore her and never had to wonder for a moment whether they were loved. She was that rare mixture of mother and best friend.
Kathy loved spending time with family. That love for family time gave rise to numerous, sometimes daily family dinners, coffee talks and road trips. When examining Kathy’s hobbies, it would usually include a family activity of some sort.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Don, her daughter, Tiffany (Nathan) and her son, Zane, as well as numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and extended family.
To the world she may have been one person, but to those who truly loved her, she was the world.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held for family and close friends.
