Gary Vallie was born to Winifred and Abe Vallie on June 18, 1943 and passed away on January 19, 2018. He grew up spending time on the Crow Reservation and in Billings. He married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Letasky at age 18. They were happily married for 48 years.
Gary got his first job at Wong Village and eventually became part owner of the business. He also owned The Wonder Bar in Cody, WY and the A&W in the Billings Heights before switching career paths to become a truck driver. After he retired he drove school bus for as long as he could.
Gary loved fishing, camping, classic cars and country music. He had a wonderful sense of humor.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Abe and Winifred Vallie; brother, Lee Rollins; wife, Nancy Vallie; brothers-in-law, Rod Grande, John and Jim Letasky, Jim Staples; and grandson, Keith Hall.
He is survived by daughters, Rita (Curt) Kihlstrom from Burlington, ND, and Becky (Terry) Mobley from East Grand Forks, MN; sister, Mary Lou Grande from Arlington, WA; brother-in-law, Dwight (Linda) Letasky from Billings, MT, and sister-in-law, Mary Staples from Dillon, MT; as well as 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial Service held 11:00am Thursday, January 25, at the Atonement Lutheran Church. Urn burial will be at Mountview Cemetery in Billings, MT.
