Betty Jean (Lindow) Marshall passed away, peacefully, on January 13, 2018, at Tender Nest Assisted Living in Billings, Montana. She was born on February 3, 1928, in Denver, Colorado and would have soon celebrated her 90th birthday.
Betty Spent her young years in Avery, Idaho, being raised by her mother, Ruth Lindow and grandmother, Alma Koehler. She attended school there, as well as in Kalispell, Montana and Missoula, Montana. Later, she was a student at U of M in Missoula.
While working for the Milwaukee Railroad in Avery one summer, she met her future husband, Donald “Bud” Marshall, (deceased in 2016) and they were married on September 14, 1946, in Missoula, Montana. Together they made a home in Billings, where they raised five children.
In 1966, Betty returned to school, and earned her LPN degree. She enjoyed her nursing career for many years before retiring to seriously study oil painting. She and our father began “snow-birding” in the Southwest during the winter months as members of an Airstream club. Mom enjoyed painting the Southwest and West Coast landscapes as they traveled. She and Dad also took up playing golf at various courses as they traveled. It was a sport she enjoyed even long after she stopped actively participating.
Betty leaves behind her children, Theresa Clark (Rob), Rick Marshall, Steve Marshall (Debbie), Don Marshall and Kate Marshall Nevas (Marc). She also leaves 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
The family will announce a burial/memorial service at a later date in early April.
