Obituary for Virginia Gerrells (Kolstad)
Virginia Gerrells passed away March 21, 2017 at Aspen Meadows with family by her side. Born August 26, 1930 to Harland and Amalia Kolstad, the oldest of four. She went to school at Garfield, Lincoln and Senior. She worked at the Northern Hotel where she met Whitey Gerrells and went on to marry and raise three children; worked at Buttreys Dept. store, Mildred-Hazel and retired after 30 years from Reiters Marina. Not one to sit still, she took her part-time dream job at Fiberworks. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, quilting, and was always there to enjoy and help her kids, grandkids, great-grandkids and any of their friends who needed a place to come.
Preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother, Raymond. She is survived by daughters Kathy (Jim) Reinhardt and Cheryl (Kim) Rivera of Billings, and son Clifford Gerrells of So. Paris, Maine; six grandkids Mick, Mel, Samantha, RC, Marisa and Cassie; eleven great-grandkids Hunter, Shelby, JR, Riley, Kayleigh, Payton, Kaydence, Trinitie, Landon, Porter and Sidney.
A memorial service will be held 11:00am, Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Smith Downtown Chapel, located at 925 S 27th Street.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to a charity of one’s choice.
